India Open Super Series: PV Sindhu defeats Saina Nehwal and enters semi-finals

Indian badminton player and the Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu defeated Saina Nehwal, in women singles quarter-final of the 2017 India Open Super Series  on Friday.

PV Sindhu won in straight games 21-16, 22-20  at Siri Fort Sports Complex today and entered the semi-finals.

PV Sindhu closed out the opening game 21-16. Saina Nehwal stormed back in the second game and opened up a 4-1 lead.
But Sindhu won back a few points and closed the gap to a single point with a reflex cross-court backhand and made it 3-4. 

After the game, Sindhu said, that at 20-20 it was anyone's game and on Friday it was to be hers.

The 21-year-old shuttler will next face world no 2 and second seed Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea in the last 4 of the competition on Saturday.

Sung Ji Hyun, defeated former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 21-16, 22-20.
