Feng Shui literally meaning wind and water is a Chinese philosophical system of the individual harmony with the surrounding environment. A good Feng Shui bedroom is a bedroom that promotes a harmonious flow of nourishing and sensual energy. If you raise a question how to achieve it, see the tips below:

1. Have soft lighting.
For the best Feng Shui, you should avoid bright, garish lights or ceiling lights over your bed.
Have several levels of lighting in your bedroom, or use a dimmer switch to adjust the energy accordingly. Candles are ideal option for the bedroom but be sure to use candles with no toxins.

2. Skip fountains and water features.
Don't hang up pictures of water or place an aquarium in your room. Keep your fish tank or paintings of water or rivers out of the bedroom if you want to have the best possible sleep.

3. Avoid electronically devices
Let go of the TV, computer or exercise equipment in your bedroom. Electronically devices create an unhealthy magnetic field which may disrupt your sleep.

4. Avoid mirrors
Avoid a mirror that faces your bed or a mirrored set of closet doors. If these mirrors are fixtures that you can't get rid of, then drape some fabric over them. Left exposed, they are thought to disturb your sleep.

5. Use soothing colours
Use soothing colours to achieve a good Feng Shui balance in your bedroom. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you can feel calm in your own bedroom and to get a good night's sleep. Having light, soft, and pastel colours throughout your bedroom can add to your serenity and peace of mind. Some of the colours that you might consider are Light blue, Light pink, Light green, Light purple, etc. Furniture, walls, carpets, curtains and bed linen should also be in soft, pastel colours.

6. Choose the images for your bedroom wisely
Images carry powerful Feng Shui energy. Hang up images of calming scenes from nature, or other places that inspire you. Pick some neutral scenery, an image that motivates you to achieve your dreams, or something else that puts you in a calm and peaceful frame of mind. Place the most inspiring image across from your line of sight in the bed, so that it's the first thing you see when you wake up.

7. Keep all the bedroom doors closed at night
Keep all the bedroom doors closed at night, be it the closet doors, the en-suite bathroom door or the bedroom door.

8. The air in the bedroom should always be fresh
Open the windows often or use a good quality air-purifier to keep the air fresh and full of oxygen.

9. Bedroom is a place where you can rest and relax
Your bedroom should be your sanctuary. It should be an escape from the stress of your everyday life. It should be a place you can come to when you want to rest or just when you need a break. Ideally, you should move your desk out of your bedroom, so the bedroom truly becomes a place where you can rest and relax.

10. Carefully choose the bed
A well-balanced bed is very important in creating a perfect Feng Shui bedroom. Good mattress, a solid headboard and high quality sheets from natural fibers are also very important in creating harmonious Feng Shui energy. Have your bed easily approachable from both sides, place two bedside tables (one on each side), and, avoid having the bed in a direct line with the door or you'll be in the middle of the "draught" of energy running between these two places.
