Teen series “Gossip Girl” star, Ed Westwick was removed from BBC's adaptation Agatha Christie drama “Ordeal By Innocence” due to sexual assault allegations made against actor.

The 30-year-old English actor and musician who is best known for his role as Chuck Bass on The CW's teen television drama series Gossip Girl, will now be replaced by Christian Cooke.

As per reports, the filming of another series “White Gold” starring Westwick was also paused.

In November last year, allegations were made by three different women of rape and sexual assault. All of the alleged incidents are claimed to have occurred in 2014.

Meanwhile, the actor issued a statement describing the allegations as "provably untrue", and further stated "I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape".

“It is disheartening and sad to me that as a result of two unverified and provably untrue social media claims, there are some in this environment who could ever conclude I have had anything to do with such vile and horrific conduct,” Westwick wrote in his Twitter account. “ I am cooperating with the authorities so that they can clear my name as soon as possible”, he added.

As per media reports, it's the second time in recent months that an actor has been replaced in a movie or TV series that had already been filmed as a result of sexual assault allegations.

Kevin Spacey was replaced by Christopher Plummer in All The Money In The World - which is released in UK cinemas this weekend.
