Azadpur Metro station violence; police arrest three

Delhi police have arrested three people in connection to violence that erupted on Monday evening at Azadpur Metro station in Delhi.

The CISF duty in-charge had two fire in the air to disperse the crowd. The bullet did not cause any damage as it hit the ceiling and got deflected to a safe area.

As per reports, the incident took place around 7.30 pm when about 20 people reached the station following a quarrel between two passengers.

One of them, a 17-year-old, had called up his friends and family after the scuffle, the CISF officer said.

“They beat up the rival passenger and a CISF constable. When the CISF personnel tried to control them, they manhandled them and threatened to harm them,” said the officer.

"We detained six people on Monday evening of which three have been arrested. More arrest are likely soon," DCP metro told reporters.

The accused, identified as Fullinder (52), Rakesh Singh (42), the residents of a JJ colony in the area, have been booked for assaulting and preventing a public servant from conducting his duty.
