Haryana’s police has questioned Honeypreet Insan, the adopted daughter of Dera’s guru Ram Rahim Singh, who was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for raping two women followers.

The 36-year-old Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja, was arrested on Tuesday in connection to Panchkula’s violence in which 38 people were killed after the guru was convicted of rape in August.

She has been accused of trying to help him escape and also instigating the rioting.

Honeypreet was on the run ever since Dera’s chief arrest. Haryana police has sent its teams to Rajasthan and Bihar and even the border with Nepal.

Honeypreet has denied reports that she had ever left the country or that her adopted father had sexually abused her.She said her "Papa" - Singh - was innocent and that his conviction for rape had left her "depressed".

Yesterday, Honeypreet told the News 24 channel that the charges against her are false and also defended her relationship with Ram Rahim.

Apart from the rape charges Guru Ram Rahim Singh also was charged of murder in two cases which are still being heard in court.
